Therapeutic Massage is a skilled and mindful way of using hands-on touch and manipulation of muscle tissue to increase circulation, reduce adhesions (muscle knots), pain and release tensions including stress from your body.
Modalities of Bodywork
Performed throughout the bodywork session as a way of transitioning from one section of your body to the next, smooth gliding strokes, and rhythmic percussion (including cupping) are used. These techniques are all about warming up the muscles, improving circulation, and promoting relaxation.
“Deep” is a relative term. Marta makes sure the pressure never exceeds your ability to breathe through that moment. By going deeper into the muscles using my thumbs, elbows, and forearms we are able to get very specific about releasing contracted muscles and adhesions.
Getting the muscles to release isn’t always about going deep. By putting the body part into relaxing position and holding for a few minutes, Martas has found that years of built-up muscle tension can release quite effortlessly.
The focus is on the rhythmic connection between the skull and the spine. By using gentle touch and holds, the release of blockages and improved flow of cerebrospinal fluid can be achieved. This can be very beneficial in improving conditions such as headaches, migraines, jaw pain, and low back pain.
Pronounced RAY-KEY, it is based in Japanese tradition -- Universal energy gently flows from me to you to help reduce pain, relax and revive you.
Reiki sessions can be sent to you. Depending on the circumstance, these sessions can be just as effective as hands-on treatments.
